In the third episode of the new and exciting ‘podcast-movie’ Bronzeville The Copeland gang finds itself in trouble. As Everett Copeland (Wood Harris) deals with a racist and violent prison guard, Jesse (Omari Hardwick) is trying to figure out how and why so many people are winning money on the numbers wheel.
Jimmy (Larenz Tate) and Casper investigate what the recent winners have in common — and while many claim superstitious intervention, the truth is far more sinister.
Meanwhile Jimmy also has to worry that Lisa’s older brother might not take kindly to their budding relationship.
Lisa Copeland (Tika Sumpter) has other things to worry about as she and Curtis Randolph (Laurence Fishburne) discuss the law restricting their forgiving loaning policy which makes sure that the low-income residents of Bronzeville can afford a place to live. Lisa makes a genius discovery and finds a loophole that could help their clients, and their business. Which leaves Jesse and Curtis to agree that Lisa may be, “The future of the family in the straight world – the white world.”
