Most of us know of the legacy of Notorious B.I.G. We remember the music and know he is one of the G.O.A.T!  We know of  the tragic way the world lost him and the story behind the East Coast vs West Coast rivalry.

There has also been a Biopic film made about his life and we’ve seen him in numerous videos and interviews he left behind, But everyone who knew his music has a personal story of how they remember him. He left a mark with all of us.

I remember buying my cassette tape of ‘Ready to Die’ because of the single “Big Poppa” and I was already familiar with “Juicey ” from radio play. That Big Poppa video was something so chill and relaxed , but was shot in a club, so that just blew my mind. Everything he described in the lyrics was so visible even without the video. In those days there was a lot of glamorizing of violence on records, so when Biggie said  “If you got a gun up in your waist please don’t shoot up the place, Cause I see some ladies tonight who should be havin my baby”,  As a female…it made feel grown and sexy.

The whole cd had different sides to him: The Player, The Hustler , Thug and The Lover.

I was very pleased to find it was one those albums I could rock from beginning to end. I could see what he was living in the way he told it, But i was really impressed with “Gimme the Loot” , he created another character and switched the bars off of himself, lol..  I was floored.. he killed it!  It by far is still my favorite Biggie song of all time because of his creativity and how aggressive he tells the story.

His second album was released after his death entitled ‘Life After Death’ numerous tracks with features from his label mates, newer artists and the “Ill be Missing You” by P.Diddy ft. his Widow Faith Evans. Another track on that album as well was featured by Bad Boy Group 112 paying homage to him in “Sky’s the limit” That song still gives me the chills to this day & the video by children portraying his life is epic. Biggie you are missed but Never forgotten.

Today we remember The Notorious B.I.G , He would’ve been 43 years old today.

Ive included some of my favorite Biggie videos below and also Included Jadakiss’ Letter to Biggie’ ft. Faith Evans.
