He’s the raspy voice of the Rap trio ‘The Beastie Boys’.
Beastie Boys were 3 young white boys out of New York City that formed back in 1982, who would’ve thought they’d be responsible for not only bringing hip hop into the mainstream but also crossing color barriers around the world through Hip Hop.
They used Rock music and Funk samples combined with their raw, frat boy, obnoxious style to change hip hop forever.
In 1986 Licensed to Ill became the best selling rap album of the 1980s and the first rap album to go No.1 on the Billboard album chart, where it stayed for five weeks.
It was Def Jam’s fastest selling debut record to date and sold over nine million copies.
During this time MCA had many alter egos including Video Director Nathaniel Hornblower and was responsible for Many of the groups crazy Videos and story lines like “Fight for your right” “Sabatoge” and “Intergalactic”.
The group reached more success and continued to be innovators in music with their unique sound, visuals, & lyrics gaining the respect of the hip hop industry as legends and were also inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of fame.
In the later years MCA and the group were involved in many charities and MCA also helped organize the huge Annual Tibet Freedom concerts all over the world.
but in 2012 he lost his 3 year battle to Cancer and will forever be missed. MCA was a Musician, Visionary and Humanitarian.
“was incredibly sweet and the most sensitive artist, who I loved dearly.” – Russel Simmons
“stood for integrity as an artist.” – Ben Stiller
“I loved him.”- LL Cool J
“A crazy talent whose contributions with his band were inspirational and consistently ground breaking.” – Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam
The Beastie boys were my favorite MTV videos to watch as a kid, especially the “Fight for your right” pie throwing scene in the end!!  lol .
WE all Loved  “Licensed to Ill” but my favorite song of that album and the song that made me FALL IN LOVE with Hip Hop was this song here:
