WEST GOSHEN, Pa. – An alleged love triangle in West Goshen Township has led to murder in Chester County.
Police say 34-year-old Morgan Mengel has confessed to taking part in the murder of her husband Kevin.
His body was found early this morning, less than 150 yards from Marple Newtown High school.
The Chester County DAs office tells Action News that Kevin Mengel was reported missing by his mother Kathleen Barton last Sunday.
After an investigation by Chester County authorities, Morgan was taken into custody and questioned several times this past week before confessing to having an affair and also being an accomplice to the murder which took place on June 17th.
The act was allegedly carried out by Stephen Shapell, the man Morgan Mengel was having an affair with.
Morgan Mengel told police she and Shapell poisoned her husband and then Shapell hit him with a shovel resulting in his death.
Shapell worked with Kevin at MKB Landscaping.
Police are still looking for Shapell who was last seen driving a white Ford pickup truck with PA license plate YSB-9330.
